Szczesny agreed long term contract

Wojciech Szczesny
Okay, i admit it I copy paste his last name for the title of this post. But i'm happy to announce this news from footbo:

Wojciech Szczesny is not only the world’s greatest name to use in a game of hang man; he’s also the future of the Arsenal Gunners. Well at least Arsenal is hoping that the young Polish keeper can one day become that reliable #1 in the net.
Arsenal announced earlier today that Szczesny has recently agreed to resign with the club to a long term deal. The twenty year old Polish keeper has yet to find his groove on the Premier League level, but Szczesny was by all accounts excellent last season in League One for his loan club of Brentford. In 28 appearances last year, the Polish keeper collected 10 clean sheets and was honored with the Man of the Match honor several times over the brief loan.

And on paper Szczeskny is the perfect type of player to acquire and keep under contract long term too. First off, he has had successful campaigns in the past on the lower level. Secondly, he is only twenty years old and still has many future starts ahead of him. Third, he’s a giant in the net with an impressive wingspan standing at 6’5. And finally, he is the spawn of a former professional keeper.
Maciej Szczeskny is a former Polish national team keeper as well and is the father of Wojciech. And I’m sure considering his boy’s extension this week his father is likely very proud of his son. Wojciech Szczesny said that “it’s a great feeling to sign a new contract” and the young keeper hopes to play first team football for the English club one day:
It’s a great feeling to sign a new contract with Arsenal and I’m so pleased. The negotiations happened very quickly and it was easy. I’m now looking forward to continuing the hard work on the training pitch and doing my best whenever I have the opportunity to play in the Arsenal first-team.
I would just like to thank everyone that has helped me get this far, especially Liam Brady, Roy Massey and all his staff at the Hale End Academy. Also Neil Banfield, Steve Bould, all the backroom staff, Arsène Wenger, everyone at Brentford that helped me kick-on last season and all my team-mates here at Arsenal and, of course, my family.
Arsene Wenger voiced similar optimism when discussing the deal. The Arsenal coach preached the youngsters need for development “in the coming years”:
We are delighted to secure the long-term future of Wojciech, who we regard as a very important part of our Club’s future. We have all seen his huge potential, both in training and in the matches that he has played for us, so we look forward to seeing him develop further in the coming years.
And at 20 years of age it is always hard to tell who will do what. But considering Arsenal’s troubles in the net over the last few years, I’d say that opportunity will likely come for Szczesny sooner rather than later.
