Every year, FIFA pick the best goal to be awarded on FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala. For 2010, FIFA has announced ten finalist for the best goal that will be awarded FIFA Puskás Award 2010.

One of them was Arsenal's Samir Nasri solo run goal on the Champions League against Porto. I love this goal and have been saving the video on my ipod for a long time. It was a skillful show by Nasri.


Some goals are I've already seen and predicted like Van Brockhorst World Cup long range shot or Messi solo run. But some also I haven't seen but still amazing like Matthew Burrows back heel goal. Overall it's quite a fair list as the criteria to be picked can be seen below.


The final list has been drawn up using the following criteria: aesthetics; the importance of the match; the absence of luck or an opposition mistake as a factor making the goal possible; fair play; and the date, with only goals scored between 1 January and 15 October 2010 counting. 

The winner will be announced at the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala on 10 January 2011, where he or she will receive the FIFA Puskás Award trophy, with their name engraved upon it.
